DFP “shocked” at death of Baah-Wiredu

The Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Thursday expressed shock and disbelief at the sudden death of Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, in South Africa.
A statement on Thursday signed by Mr Bede Ziedeng, General Secretary of the party, said the untimely death of Mr Baah-Wiredu was a great loss not only to his family and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but the entire nation.
The statement said the late Minister was one of the most hardworking and respected ministers ever produced by the country.
It recounted his humility, affability and practicable qualities adding he was a gentleman who showed that it was possible for one to be a successful politician without necessarily denigrating your opponent.
While commending him for his immense contribution towards the building of the country's economy, the DFP said the late Minister would be remembered for his unblemished character and called on the youth to emulate him.
It said the DFP conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the NPP, President John Agyekum Kufuor and the entire nation for the loss.
