GJA meets to examine Guidelines on Election Coverage

The revised version of the Ghana Journalists Association's (GJA) first Guidelines on Election Coverage would be examined
on Thursday in Accra.
A press release from GJA stated that the revised draft would be examined
by a team of editors and representatives from all the regional branches of the GJA in a consultative meeting before adoption, publishing and circulation.
A six-member GJA team revised the document in June 2008 to serve as a reference for journalists in the covering of the December 2008 elections and beyond. The revision was sponsored by the French Embassy.
The Friedrich Ebert Foundation sponsored the old draft, which was drawn up in 1996 in collaboration with the Electoral Commission.
