Civic forum calls for cleaning of voters’ register

The Civic Forum Initiative (CFI), a coalition of civil society organisations, has called for the total cleaning of the voters' register, which is said to be blotted.
The CFI said the cleaning of the register would lead to the restoration of confidence of the voting public and create an appropriate environment for free, fair and peaceful elections.
A statement signed in Accra on Thursday by Dr Kwadwo Appiagyei-Atua, Coordinator, CFI, also appealed to political parties, traditional authorities, churches and all religious to appeal to their members to volunteer information to the Electoral Commission (EC) on cases of minor, double or multiple registration and other malpractices.
The statement called for the need to intensify voter education to ensure maximum participation in the exhibition of the register which ends o Sunday.
It also called on all security agencies to firmly and impartially perform their duties before, during and after the elections and advised political leaders as well as candidates to bring their influence to bear on their political support base to keep the peace and ensure a successful election in December.

If you we well the lord God almighty will bless. It is the duty of each and every one of us to join hands together to build our Nation Ghana. We are one people with one destiny. Let us not forget that a Little good we do today will grow to multiples tomorrow.
To the electoral commission of our dear motherland Ghana and Mr. Afari Gyan please the success of this these years’ elections lie in your hands. Transparency and tranquillity, free and fair should be your thought, deed and action. Do not favour anybody and do not be deceived by any presidential aspirants or their agents.
As you do this in neutrality with the fear of God I know all will be well with us. Declare the right result when it is due and at the right time. Let Freedom and Justice be your authority and staff of judgement.
It is said that He that The Lord Call the Lord qualifies; I pray that you will have the Faith of God and Christ like attributes, and may He give you the strength to declare the right result as we prepare for this all important exercise in 57 days to come.
