Presidential aspirants asked to desist from insults

Presidential aspirants of the political parties contesting Election 2008, have been urged to desist from insults and acrimony and explain their plans for the country to the electorate.
Bishop Peter Kojo Sackey of the Church of Christ at Mankesim, made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency Winneba on Thursday.
He urged Ghanaians to support the Electoral Commission to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections.
Bishop Sackey urged politicians anticipating conflict after the elections to discard that notion because Ghana would go through peaceful elections to defend its democratic dispensation.
The clergyman, who is also special assistant to secretary general of the Ghana Chapter of the World Federation of the United Nations Association, said the group would train about 2000 members nationwide to observe the conduct of the elections.
