The Electoral Commission(EC) has insisted that voters in the December 28 presidential run-off will have fingers marked before casting theirs votes in the same manner as in the December 7 polls except this this time the the left fore finger will be marked instead of the voter's smallest left finger.
This directive is in response to suggestions from numerous persons including President Kuffour on the EC to allow voters to vote before marking their fingers. According to the EC, though this suggestions are good, the directive to apply indelible ink to the voter's finger before he or she chats her vote it to prevent multiple voting.
In a related development, the EC is planning to double the voting materials at polling stations where numbers are high in order to reduce the long queues experienced at those stations.
