At a press briefing in Accra, the Women Manifesto Coalition is demanding from the next government, mandatory appointment of women as regional ministers and district chief executives and on boards of corporations and institutions in light of reduction of women parliamentarians from 25 to 18. Speaking at the press briefing for the coalition, The Executive Director of Advocates for Gender Equity(AGE) Mrs Elizabeth Akpalu said '' We firmly believe that without the active participation of women and the incorporation of women's perspectives at all levels of decision marking, the goals of equity, development and peace cannot be achieved."
