An Asamankese circuit court has placed an interim injunction restraining Mr Seth Otchere, from holding himself as the parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Lower West Akyem. The action followed a writ filed at the court by three former executive members against Mr Otchere and two other executive members of the party. In support of motion ex-parte for the grant of interim injunction and upon hearing Mr Asare Bediako, counsel for the plaintiffs/applicants, the court presided over by Mr Kofi Akrowiah, ordered that the defendants were hereby "jointly and severally restrained from holding Mr Otchere as the party's candidate for the constituency. The court also ordered that defendants were further "restrained from organizing any meeting or forum or gathering or rally for the purpose of introducing Mr Otchere as the candidate of the NDC for the constituency until the matter is determined or the order reviewed by the court". The court further said "the said Mr Otchere is also restrained from holding himself as the NDC candidate for the Lower West Akyem constituency". GNA |
