Reverend Minister lauds NDC as party of truth

The Reverend Dr. Joseph Asare-Akoto, parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Asuogyaman in the Eastern Region, has observed that the social democratic principle of the NDC and the quest for the truth would improve on its political fortunes in the December polls.
He said contrary to the politics of intrigues and lies by the ruling New Patriotic Party, the NDC had always told Ghanaians the truth and expressed the hope that the electorate would count on the culture of sincerity and accountability of the party to vote it back to power.
Rev. Dr. Asare-Akoto who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency, at Atimpoku, said the strong moral principles of the NDC, had motivated him to serve as a parliamentary candidate.
He said his decision to context the Asuogyaman constituency as a candidate of the NDC was in fulfilment of his call to duty.
"I believe in social democracy, which gives a common platform to everybody to aspire to greater heights and not to be enslaved by the privilege few who found themselves in political leadership."
"My religious background could influence Ghana's politics for the better since my penchant for the truth would help rekindle the confidence of the citizenry in politicians."
Rev. Dr. Asare-Akoto pledged to intensify his support to his constituent in fish farming, poultry and other agricultural production.
He said the area was well endowed to engage in the production of fingerlings in large quantities and mechanised farming due to the geographical position of the area to the Volta Lake and large arable land.
Rev. Dr. Asare- Akoto urged the people to be law abiding and conduct the December 7 elections peacefully to ensure the victory of the NDC.
