Kwaebibirem NCCE educate public on political tolerance

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in the Kwaebibirem District, has begun a public education on political tolerance in the two constituencies of the district, Kade and Akwatia.
Speaking at separate forums at Akwatia and Kade, Mr John Kingsley Arhin, District Director of NCCE, called on Ghanaians to tolerate each other's views, and refrain from using abusive and inflammatory language.
He said Ghanaians should also avoid hatred, rancour and acrimony and help maintained the current peace before, during and after the December 7, 2008 elections.
Mr Arhin reminded Ghanaians of the election related violence in some African countries and said it was necessary for all to help make this year's event, free, fair and transparent.
The District Director also advised the youth not be misled or used by politicians to cause havoc, disrupt rallies of opposing parties or deface and destroy party posters.
Mr Arhin further asked the youth to remember that the future belonged to them and they should, therefore, helped built it and not to destroy it.
He observed that the country had a great future and Ghanaians should realise that that greatness could be achieved only if they developed the country through peaceful means.
Mr Arhin further said Ghanaians had only one country and they should collectively love, cherish and nurture it to achieve its full potential and bring progress and prosperity.
During an open forum, the Electoral Commission was advised to get the right type of indelible ink to avoid multiple voting and also for voting materials to reach voting centres on time.
