IPS congratulates Atta Mills

The Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) on Monday congratulated President-elect John Evans Atta Mills for his electoral victory and commended his pledge to be father for all Ghanaians. A statement signed in Accra by Prof. Joshua Alabi, Rector, said: "In these challenging times for tertiary education in Ghana, where demands for enrolments far exceed admissions, and the strain on the institutions' resources seem to be compromising quality in the country, the Institute hopes that tertiary education would be top priority of Prof. Mills' government and would receive the attention it so well deserves." It said IPS hoped that more focus would be given to financing tertiary education to enhance the human capital.
"The Institute looks forward to an enhancement of the prudent and equitable disbursement of the GETFund for a better Ghana."   IPS also congratulated all political parties for their role in helping  entrench democracy in Ghana. It also congratulated Ghanaians for the mature manner in which they conducted themselves before and during the election.
IPS lauded the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan and his team for the able manner in which the election was conducted and the timely and stately manner of the declaration of the results.
