Supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), have been advised to celebrate their party's victory in the recent general elections but with caution.
Mr Philip Owusu Mahama, an opinion leader in Kumasi, who gave the advice, told the Ghana News Agency on Monday that supporters must not engage in violence, insults, or cast insinuations against their political opponents.
He said such an act would not augur well for nation's development process.
Mr Mahama said: "We ought to have unity of purpose in whatever we do because our country Ghana has come a long way in consolidating peace and democracy".
He called on all to support the new government, under President John Evans Atta Mills.
